What is a domain name you ask? It is the address that you type in your web browser to got to a website.
So for example if a website address is https://www.thiscompanyaddress.com then the domain name is “thiscompanyaddress.com”
A domain name can also be used for your emails so that instead of having thiscompanyaddress@gmail.com as your email address which looks unprofessional, you can instead have sales@thiscompanyaddress.com and can then also have as many individual email accounts under the domain as you like. For example office@thiscompanyaddress.com accounts@thiscompanyaddress.com Bob@thiscompanyaddress.com Jane@thiscompanyaddress.com etc…
So how do you decide what your domain name should be?
There are quite a few things to consider when you are choosing a domain name, first you need to make sure that it is available to register and it isn’t already being used by someone else.
You also need to decide if you are going to use your company name, or if you are going to use a domain name that is more likely to rank well in Google because it contains the keywords which are relevant to your business and that people are searching for.
